Microsoft recommends a maximum size of an Access database not larger than 1 GB. When the database reaches some critical volume it rejects changes. For example, it acts as if it were write protected. Partfinder will display only the category tree without any parts because necessary temporary tables cannot be created. Compacting the database may resolve this issue.
On the Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator dialog box, click Database->Compact Database.
