Create custom document properties

  1. Open a Solid Edge document. In the Application menu, choose Properties→File Properties to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. On the Custom tab, in the Name box, type a name for your custom property.

    Note:

If you do not want the name to appear in other applications, such as Microsoft Exchange, place an underscore ( _ ) in front of the name.

  3. In the Type box, click the type of property you want.

  4. In the Value box, type a value for the property, and then click Add.

    Note:

The value must match the type. For example, if you clicked Number in the Type box, you must type a number in the Value box. Values that do not match the type are stored as text.
