Mate command

Applies a mate relationship between two parts in an assembly. A mate relationship ensures that the face of one part in an assembly is coplanar to and facing another part.

Mated part faces can touch each other or be offset from each other. When you define a fixed offset, you can type a value for the offset distance.  If the offset value is set to zero, the faces are coplanar.

When you define a floating offset, you can apply another relationship that controls the offset distance.

You can also use a mate relationship to position a part with respect to an element in a part, subassembly, or top-level assembly sketch.

Note:

Note: When you attempt to apply a mate relationship that conflicts with other relationships, Solid Edge will try to apply a planar align relationship.
