Insert a Function Into a Formula

Step 1.

Choose Tools tab→Variables group→Variables

Step 2.

In the Variable Table, click the function cell in which you want to enter the formula.

Step 3.

Click the Function Wizard button.

Step 4.

Click the function category and the function name.

Step 5.

Click the Next button. The Function Wizard dialog box displays the arguments for the function.

Step 6.

Type the values for the arguments.

Step 7.

Click the Finish button to enter the completed function into your formula.

Tip:

  • You can enter values, references, names, formulas, and other functions into the boxes on the Function Wizard dialog box. These entries must produce valid values for the argument.

  • If an argument is required, the word "required" appears in the display area on the Function Wizard Step 2 of 2 dialog box.
