Set a background image in advanced rendering

When working in Explode-Render-Animate, you can add a background image that stretches to fit the window size.

  1. Activate the advanced rendering environment in your assembly document. To do this:

    1. Choose Tools tab→Environs group→ERA.

The ribbon changes to display tabs containing commands for the Explode-Render-Animate application.

    2. On the Home tab, in the Render group, choose the Scene or Render Area command.

The Session Entities tab is added to PathFinder.

  2. In PathFinder, click the Session Entities tab.

  3. On the Session Entities tab, open the Background entity by doing one of the following:

    • Right-click the Background entity, and then choose Edit Definition.

    • Double-click the Background entity.

The Background Editor dialog box is displayed.

  4. In the Background Editor dialog box, from the Shader list, select Scaled Image.

  5. Click the button to the right of the File Name box, and from the Open Image File dialog box, select the image file you want to use.

  6. From the Aspect Mode list, select Stretch.

The Preview pane shows what the background image will look like when applied to the assembly window.

  7. Click OK to close the Background Editor dialog box.

  8. Click Scene to apply the background to the assembly document.

The background remains until you redraw the screen.

    Tip:

For presentation purposes, you can save the assembly file with a background image using the Save As Image command on the Application menu.
