On the Start menu, point to Program, then point to Solid Edge ST6, then point to Data Migration, and then click MDT Data Migration.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, in the Host Name field, specify a host. You can use the Browse button to display a dialog box that allows you to search for a host.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, in the Type of Translation area, select the type of translation you want to do.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, in the MDT Working Folder field, specify the Mechanical Desktop working folder that contains the files you want to translate.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, specify a Solid Edge template.
In the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, in the MDT Configuration File field, enter the configuration file name.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, specify the log file location information.
If you want to import the Mechanical Desktop documents as managed documents in Solid Edge, select the Add to Library option.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, specify the Insight Folder location information.
On the Mechanical Desktop Data Migration Start Page dialog box, click the Next button.
On the Mechanical Desktop File Selection Page dialog box, select the documents you want to open.
Click the Add button to add the selected folder or documents to the list of files to be migrated.
On the Mechanical Desktop File Selection Page dialog box, click the Next button.
On the Saving Changes dialog box, specify the configuration file to which you want to save the remapped configuration.
On the Saving Changes dialog box, click the Finish button.
