Using Search Criteria

Search Criteria is a set of mathematical and Boolean style expressions which can be compared to document properties to aide in the search process. For example, you can use search criteria to find and display a file's title or last save date based on the criteria defined.

All standard Solid Edge file properties, such as title and document type, are available for use as search properties. Properties that can be computed from data in the file, such as number of bytes or number of characters, are also available.

Property List

The document properties available to you are displayed by selecting a cell in the Property column in the Criteria portion of the Search dialog. These properties are compiled from several sources including standard file properties, the propseed.txt file, SharePoint document libraries and the custom tab of an active document if a document is active.

Criteria List

The criteria for comparison against the chosen property are displayed in the Criteria portion of the Search dialog. For a list of valid criteria, see the Search Criteria List.
