Choose Application menu→Open.
On the Open File dialog box, from the Look In list, select the folder containing the document you want to open.
On the Open File dialog box set the Files of Type option to Inventor Part documents (*.ipt) or Inventor Assembly documents (*.iam).
On the Open File dialog box click the Options button.
On the Import Options for Inventor (.ipt and .iam) dialog box specify the appropriate options, and then click the OK button.

On the Open File dialog box click the Open button.
On the New dialog box specify a Solid Edge template and click the OK button.
