Include part edges in a profile

  1. Choose Home tab→Draw group→Include .

  2. If the Include Options dialog box displays, set the options you want, then click OK.

  3. Select one or more elements to include in the profile, then click the Accept (checkmark) button on the command bar.

Tip:

  • You can include edges from the active part, an assembly sketch, or the other parts in the assembly. When you include edges from an assembly sketch or other parts in the assembly, the edges are associatively copied if the Allow Inter-Part Links Using the Include Command in Part and Assembly Sketches option on the Inter-Part tab on the options dialog box is set.

  • When you use the Inter-Part Copy command to associatively copy faces from other parts in the assembly into the active document, these faces become part of the active part, and you can use the Include command to associatively copy their edges.

  • To include edges from inactive parts, you must activate them first using the Activate Part command.

  • You cannot include an element that is perpendicular to the profile plane.

  • You can extend the ends of open included elements.

  • You can include edges that are curves.

  • You cannot modify closed elements in the included geometry.

  • You can control whether or not silhouette edges of parts are locatable with the Silhouette Edge Locate command.
